Fort Riley is a local US Army base located here between Junction City and Manhattan. Fort Riley has always had an important role in the defense of our nation and the training of our Soldiers. Fort Riley is located in the Flint Hills Region of Kansas and home to Soldiers and families of the 1st Infantry Division known as “The Big Red One”. This location, approved by the War Department in January 1853, offered an advantageous location from which to organize, train and equip troops in protecting the overland trails.
While the Army provides the training necessary to make top-notch soldiers charged with the defense of our great country, the Junction City Church of Christ provides the training necessary to make top-notch Christian soldiers in the defense of the gospel.
